What kind of wine is Valdobbiadene Prosecco Extra Dry “47” DOCG 2023 - Bortolotti
Inspired by the year the winery was founded, 1947, the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Extra Dry “47” DOCG 2023 - Bortolotti represents the essence of Venetian sparkling wine tradition. It is a vintage sparkling wine made from Glera grapes grown in the most suitable hills of Valdobbiadene, the heart of the DOCG denomination, where the slopes and microclimates create ideal conditions for elegant and aromatic wines. Refermentation takes place using the Charmat method, which involves a second fermentation in an autoclave: a process designed to preserve the natural fragrance and freshness of the grapes, distinctive elements of this Prosecco with a refined and authentic character. The Extra Dry style, with a slightly higher residual sugar than Brut, gives the palate a pleasant softness and harmonious balance.Vintage details
The 2023 vintage was characterized by a balanced climate, with a mild spring and a breezy summer that favored a slow and complete ripening of the grapes. The temperature variations between day and night enhanced the primary aromas of Glera, delivering particularly intense fruity and floral notes. The harvest, carried out manually in the first weeks of September, allowed for the selection of only the healthiest and ripest bunches, resulting in great purity and aromatic precision.Winemaking and aging
After gentle pressing, the must ferments at a controlled temperature in steel tanks to preserve the delicate notes of the grapes. This is followed by sparkling using the Charmat method (or Martinotti method), during which the wine undergoes a second fermentation in an autoclave for about 30-40 days. A brief period of aging on the lees helps to make the bubbles creamier and more persistent, while maintaining the lively freshness that is the hallmark of the "47" line.Tasting notes
