What kind of wine is Franciacorta DOCG 'Sansevé' “P.R.” “Coupé” - Monte Rossa
Franciacorta DOCG 'Sansevé' “P.R.” “Coupé” - Monte Rossa represents three excellent interpretations of the classic method in its most authentic expression. Monte Rossa, a historic winery in the Brescia area, has always been synonymous with research, elegance, and a balance between tradition and modernity. These refined sparkling wines are born right in Franciacorta, a hilly area in the province of Brescia surrounded by Lake Iseo, produced using the classic method, which involves refermentation in the bottle with a long period of aging on the lees, guaranteeing creaminess and aromatic complexity. The "Sansevé", "P.R.", and "Coupé" lines illustrate three different but complementary styles of Franciacorta: from the most delicate and velvety, to the more structured and dry, up to the purest and most vertical, designed for those who appreciate freshness and precision.Vintage details
Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Nero grapes are harvested manually during the vintage, which typically occurs in late August or early September. The climatic conditions of recent years in Franciacorta have favored healthy bunches and balanced ripening, capable of expressing a rich aromatic profile and a lively freshness, fundamental elements for obtaining sparkling wines of consistent quality.Winemaking and aging
Winemaking follows the classic method, which involves an initial fermentation in steel and, in some cases, a portion in barriques to impart greater structure and complexity. After the cuvées are created, the base wines are bottled for the second fermentation, following the times prescribed by the denomination:- “Sansevé”: minimum aging of 24 months on the lees, pressure below 4.5 atmospheres, and only white grapes, for a silky and enveloping result.
- “P.R.”: blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Nero with reserve wines, rests on the lees for approximately 24 months and ages another 4 months after disgorgement.
- “Coupé”: predominantly Chardonnay with a small proportion of Pinot Nero; zero dosage to enhance purity and mineral tension.

Storage and aging: how to store Franciacorta DOCG 'Sansevé' “P.R.” “Coupé” - Monte Rossa wine
To best appreciate the vivacity and freshness of this wine, it is advisable to consume it young, within 2-3 years of disgorgement. The bottle should be stored horizontally, in a cool place away from direct light, with a constant temperature of around 10-12°C. Avoid temperature fluctuations and vibrations, which could alter the fineness of the bubbles. Thanks to Monte Rossa's careful production, even after a few years, the wine maintains its elegance and integrity, but its optimal expression remains that of its youth: brilliant, fragrant, and full of character.Monte Rossa
