What kind of wine is Franciacorta DOCG 'P.R.' Blanc de Blancs Brut - Monte Rossa
The Franciacorta DOCG 'P.R.' Blanc de Blancs Brut - Monte Rossa is a Metodo Classico sparkling wine, meaning it is produced using secondary fermentation in the bottle, the same method used for Champagne. It originates in the heart of Franciacorta, in the province of Brescia, an area renowned for the quality of its bubbles. It is a Blanc de Blancs, therefore produced exclusively from white grapes—primarily Chardonnay with a small percentage of Pinot Bianco—which give it finesse, freshness, and a distinct aromatic elegance. It is Monte Rossa's most representative Franciacorta, best expressing the producer's style: balance and precision, with an immediate and refined drinkability.Vintage Details
The grapes used come from vineyards located in the most suitable hilly areas of Franciacorta, where clay soils and a mild climate favor balanced ripening. The harvests are manual and take place at the end of August, an ideal period to preserve natural freshness and delicate aromas, fundamental for a high-quality Blanc de Blancs.Winemaking and Aging
The Franciacorta DOCG 'P.R.' Blanc de Blancs Brut - Monte Rossa is made from the first pressing of the grapes, rich in aromas and balanced acidity. Fermentation occurs partly in steel and partly in wood, to impart complexity and structure. After blending with a portion of reserve wines, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico and remains on its lees for about 24 months. Disgorgement precedes release by at least four months, ensuring a perfect balance between freshness, creaminess, and evolved aromas.Tasting Notes
