What kind of wine is Alto Adige Pinot Grigio DOC “Porer” 2023 - Alois Lageder
The Alto Adige Pinot Grigio DOC “Porer” 2023 - Alois Lageder is an elegant and authentic white wine, an expression of the South Tyrolean territory and the biodynamic philosophy of the historic winery in Magrè. Pinot Grigio, a grape variety known for its versatility, finds a fresh and mineral interpretation here, capable of combining aromatic precision and gustatory depth. It comes from vineyards located between Magrè and Salorno, at an altitude of approximately 230-240 meters, in an environment where strong temperature variations and gravelly soils favor the development of intense aromas and pleasant natural acidity.Vintage Details
The 2023 vintage in Alto Adige was characterized by a balanced spring and a sunny but not excessively hot summer, followed by cool nights during the ripening period. These conditions allowed for slow and homogeneous grape ripening, preserving the freshness and aromatic complexity typical of Pinot Grigio. The result is a harmonious wine with a crisp and vibrant profile.Winemaking and Aging
The vinification of Pinot Grigio “Porer” 2023 follows an artisanal and innovative approach, faithful to Alois Lageder's biodynamic philosophy. The process involves three different interpretations of the grapes:- one part is vinified immediately after harvesting to preserve its aromatic purity;
- a second part remains in contact with the skins for about 15 hours to extract color and structure;
- a third ferments and ages for 8 months in contact with the whole cluster to add complexity and body.

Storage and Aging: How to store Alto Adige Pinot Grigio DOC “Porer” 2023 - Alois Lageder
The “Porer” is a white wine that best expresses its vibrancy and aromatic complexity in the first few years after the vintage. To store it correctly, keep it in a cool, dark place free from temperature fluctuations, preferably with a constant temperature between 10 and 14°C. It is recommended to consume it within 2-3 years of production, during which it maintains its characteristics of freshness and minerality. After this period, it may evolve towards more mature and honeyed notes, but it will lose some of its initial brilliance.Alois Lageder
