What kind of wine is Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze Brut DOCG 'La Rivetta' 2024 - Villa Sandi?

The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze Brut DOCG 'La Rivetta' 2024 - Villa Sandi is born in the heart of the most prestigious area of Prosecco Superiore, in Cartizze, a small hill of only 106 hectares in the municipality of Valdobbiadene. Here, between the hamlets of Santo Stefano and San Pietro di Barbozza, the Villa Sandi winery cultivates its "La Rivetta" vineyard, an authentic cru where microclimate and ancient soils blend in harmony. Made with the Charmat method (or Martinotti), which involves secondary fermentation in autoclaves to enhance freshness and aromas, this Brut DOCG sparkling wine stands out for its elegant, dry, and lively style, a full expression of the Valdobbiadene territory.

Vintage Details

The 2024 vintage was characterized by balanced weather, with alternating sunny days and moderate rainfall, ideal for bringing the Glera grapes to perfect ripeness. The harvest, carried out by hand in early September, allowed for the selection of only the healthiest and most fragrant bunches, ensuring a wine with great aromatic harmony and extraordinary freshness.

Winemaking and Aging

Vinification takes place exclusively in stainless steel to preserve the fruit's fragrance. The second fermentation, the prise de mousse, occurs using the long Charmat method, which involves several months of the wine resting on its lees in an autoclave. This aging allows the sparkling wine to develop greater aromatic complexity, finer bubbles, and a creamier, more persistent character.

Tasting Notes

Color

Visually, it presents a luminous straw yellow with golden reflections and a fine, persistent foam that accompanies the continuous and regular perlage, a symbol of impeccable effervescence.

Nose

The aroma is broad and refined: notes of crisp apple and pear emerge, accompanied by hints of citrus, white flowers, and subtle nuances of almond and honey. A typical mineral trace is noticeable, lending elegance and olfactory depth.

Palate

On the palate, it is fresh, balanced, and remarkably clean aromatically. The bubbles are fine and creamy; the lively acidity, balanced by a delicate softness, provides a harmonious sip that concludes with a mineral and dry finish, typical of true Cartizze Brut.
