What kind of wine is Lugana Riserva DOC “Le Fornaci” 2023 - Tommasi
The Lugana Riserva DOC “Le Fornaci” 2023 - Tommasi is an elegant and territorial white wine, an authentic expression of Lake Garda. It originates in Sirmione, in the most suitable area of the Lugana appellation, where the Tommasi family carefully cultivates Turbiana grapes (Trebbiano di Lugana), an indigenous vine that gives rise to the best white wines of the area. The combination of calcareous-clayey soils and more sandy and silty soils gives the wine a harmonious balance: structure and body on one hand, aroma and finesse on the other. The style is that of a fresh, mineral, and aromatic white wine, capable of combining intensity and delicacy, with a pleasant persistence on the finish.Vintage details
The 2023 vintage on Lake Garda was characterized by a balanced climate. After a mild spring with good water reserves, the summer offered warm but breezy days, ideal for the gradual ripening of the grapes. The temperature excursions between day and night favored aromatic concentration and maintained the natural acidity of the Turbiana, giving the wine a vibrant freshness and a complex aromatic profile.Winemaking and aging
After manual harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed to preserve their fragrance. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, in order to enhance the varietal aromas. Subsequently, 25% of the wine ages in oak barrels, which give roundness and softness, while the remaining 75% rests in steel to maintain freshness and minerality. The aging then continues in the bottle for a few months, until the perfect balance is achieved.Tasting Notes

Storage and aging: how to store Lugana Riserva DOC “Le Fornaci” 2023 - Tommasi wine
Lugana Riserva DOC “Le Fornaci” 2023 must be stored carefully to preserve all its fragrance. Keep it horizontally, in a cool, dark place with a constant temperature between 10 and 15°C. Although it is a structured white wine, it gives its best in its first years, when it expresses maximum freshness and aromatic vivacity. It is therefore recommended to consume it within 2-3 years of the harvest, although a brief evolution in the bottle can bring further complexity and depth of flavor.Tommasi
