What kind of wine is Franciacorta Brut DOCG - Ferghettina (cased)
Franciacorta Brut DOCG - Ferghettina (cased) is an elegant sparkling wine made using the traditional method, the same method used for Champagne, which involves a second fermentation directly in the bottle. It originates in the heart of Franciacorta, Lombardy, one of Italy's most renowned areas for producing quality sparkling wines. This Brut perfectly represents the style of the Ferghettina winery: finesse, balance, and freshness. It is produced mainly from Chardonnay grapes, with a small percentage of Pinot Noir, resulting in a harmonious and versatile wine.Vintage details
Each bottle of Franciacorta Brut DOCG - Ferghettina is the result of a careful selection of grapes from different vineyard plots, meticulously vinified separately. The harvest, usually conducted between late August and early September, is done by hand to ensure only perfectly ripe bunches. The region's climatic conditions, characterized by warm days and cool nights, help maintain an excellent balance between sugars and acidity.Vinification and aging
Each grape variety is vinified individually until the spring following the harvest. After numerous tastings, the best base wines are blended to create the final cuvée. The secondary fermentation, or prise de mousse, occurs in the bottle according to the traditional method, followed by aging on the lees for approximately 24 months. This process gives the sparkling wine fine and persistent bubbles, as well as a complex and refined aromatic bouquet.Tasting notes
