What kind of wine is Franciacorta DOCG Satèn 2021 Magnum - Ferghettina (Cased)
The Franciacorta DOCG Satèn 2021 Magnum - Ferghettina (Cased) is a classic method sparkling wine, meaning it undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, just like Champagne. It originates in the heart of Franciacorta, in the province of Brescia, one of Italy's most renowned areas for producing high-quality sparkling wines. The "Satèn" type represents the softest and most velvety soul of Franciacorta: a wine produced exclusively from white grapes, in this case 100% Chardonnay, with a slightly lower internal pressure than other Franciacortas, which provides a creamy foam and a fine and elegant perlage.Vintage details
The 2021 vintage in Franciacorta was characterized by regular climatic conditions, with a dry and bright summer. The grapes reached ideal ripeness, maintaining impeccable freshness and a perfect balance between sugars and acidity. The harvest, carried out by hand in Ferghettina's hillside vineyards, ensured a careful selection of the healthiest and ripest bunches.Winemaking and aging
The Franciacorta DOCG Satèn 2021 Magnum - Ferghettina (Cased) is produced using the classic method: after alcoholic fermentation in steel tanks, the base wine is bottled with the addition of selected yeasts for the secondary fermentation, which is the second fermentation in the bottle that naturally develops the bubbles. Aging on the lees lasts about 30 months, during which the wine evolves, enriching itself with notes of toasted bread and pastry. After disgorgement (the removal of the yeasts), a small dose of "liqueur d'expédition" is added to balance and complete the taste profile.Tasting notes

The freshness and acidity typical of Chardonnay provide balance and liveliness, while the finish is distinguished by its persistence and pleasantness.Food pairings for Franciacorta DOCG Satèn 2021 Magnum - Ferghettina (Cased)
