What wine is Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 'Vigna Spuntali' - Val di Suga
The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019 “Vigna Spuntali” - Val di Suga is a red wine of great elegance, produced in the most famous area of Montalcino, in Tuscany. It is made from pure Sangiovese Grosso grapes, coming from a single vineyard located on the southwest side of the territory, an area particularly suited for its sun exposure and proximity to the sea. The result is a Brunello with a full and harmonious body, combining power and refinement, capable of sincerely expressing its terroir. A collectible red, but also an ideal companion for those looking for an important wine to bring to the table.Vintage details
The 2019 vintage in Montalcino was considered among the best in recent years. A mild winter and a regular spring favored balanced vine development. The summer, warm but without extremes, allowed for complete grape ripening, ensuring aromatic concentration and silky tannins. The result is a wine with an excellent balance between acidity and structure, with a freshness that promises a long potential for evolution over time.Winemaking and aging
The grapes for “Vigna Spuntali” are harvested by hand and carefully selected. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel at a controlled temperature, with extended maceration on the skins (i.e., contact between the juice and the skins to extract color and tannins), which gives intensity and depth to the wine. The aging follows a traditional Brunello path, structured in two phases:- 6 months in French oak barriques, to round out the tannins and develop aromatic complexity;
- 18 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, for a slow and harmonious evolution.
