What wine is Barbaresco Valeirano DOCG 2022 - La Spinetta

The Barbaresco Valeirano DOCG 2022 - La Spinetta is an elegant and distinctive Piedmontese red wine, produced in the renowned “Valeirano” cru located in the municipality of Treiso, in the province of Cuneo. It is made exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes, the iconic varietal of the Langhe, cultivated using sustainable methods and hand-harvested to ensure the highest quality of the bunches. This Barbaresco stands out for its refined profile, extraordinary aromatic purity, and balanced structure, capable of evolving over time while maintaining its vivid territorial identity.

Vintage Details

The 2022 vintage was characterized by regular climatic conditions and ideal temperature variations between day and night, factors that favored optimal ripening of the Nebbiolo grapes. The vines, with an average age of about 55 years and located at 380 meters above sea level, produced concentrated and aromatic bunches. The result is a wine of great balance and complexity, harmoniously combining power and finesse.

Winemaking and aging

In the cellar, the grapes of Barbaresco Valeirano DOCG 2022 - La Spinetta undergo traditional fermentation, followed by prolonged maceration on the skins, which allows for the natural extraction of color, aromas, and tannins. Aging takes place in French oak barriques, 30% new and the remainder second-passage, for approximately 18 months. After aging in wood, the wine rests for another 8 months in the bottle, thus achieving a perfect balance between structure and softness.

Tasting Notes
