What kind of wine is Alto Adige Spumante Brut Rosé Metodo Classico DOC “Athesis” 2020 Magnum - Kettmeir (cased)
The Alto Adige Spumante Brut Rosé Metodo Classico DOC “Athesis” 2020 Magnum - Kettmeir (cased) is an elegant rosé sparkling wine from Alto Adige, produced by a historic winery like Kettmeir, active since 1919 and now part of the Santa Margherita group. It is made using the Traditional Method, the same one used for great Champagnes, where the secondary fermentation takes place directly in the bottle, resulting in fine and persistent bubbles, along with a complex and refined aromatic profile. Born in the hillside vineyards of Alto Adige, where an alpine climate and Mediterranean influences meet, this rosé sparkling wine stands out for its balance, freshness, and pleasant minerality: a versatile wine, perfect to accompany an entire meal.Vintage Details
The 2020 vintage was balanced, with a regular summer and a dry autumn that allowed for homogeneous ripening of the grapes. The sunny days and cool nights typical of Alto Adige favored the development of intense aromas and a distinct natural acidity, fundamental elements for a Traditional Method of great finesse.Winemaking and Aging
The Alto Adige Spumante Brut Rosé Metodo Classico DOC “Athesis” 2020 Magnum - Kettmeir is made from a careful selection of Pinot Noir grapes, vinified as a rosé to extract color and light fruity aromas. After the initial fermentation, the base wine is bottled for the second fermentation according to the Traditional Method. This is followed by a long aging on the lees for at least 18 months, during which the sparkling wine develops complexity, elegance, and fine, creamy bubbles. Disgorgement, i.e., the removal of exhausted yeasts, only occurs when the perfect balance between freshness and structure is achieved.Tasting Notes
A rosé that captivates with its delicacy and personality, ideal both as an aperitif and paired with gourmet dishes.
Color

The aroma is fine and complex, with notes of fresh red fruits like wild strawberry and raspberry, citrus hints, and delicate undertones of bread crust and almond, typical of the Traditional Method.Taste
On the palate, it offers freshness and harmony, with a balanced structure and a pleasant savory vein. The long and clean finish leaves fruity and mineral sensations that immediately invite a second glass. What dishes to pair with Alto Adige Spumante Brut Rosé Metodo Classico DOC “Athesis” 2020 Magnum - Kettmeir (cased)
