What kind of wine is Alto Adige Moscato Giallo IGT 'Vogelmaier' 2024 - Alois Lageder
The Alto Adige Moscato Giallo IGT 'Vogelmaier' 2024 - Alois Lageder is an aromatic white wine born from the sunny hills around Lake Caldaro, one of the most suitable areas in Alto Adige. It is made from Moscato Giallo grapes, a varietal that expresses intense aromas, freshness, and a pleasant minerality, characteristics that find their maximum expression in this mountain terroir. Alois Lageder's production philosophy values biodiversity and organic farming, creating a refined, immediate, and well-balanced wine.Vintage details
2024 in Alto Adige was a balanced vintage: a mild spring, a warm but ventilated summer, and a cool autumn ensured a slow and regular ripening of the grapes. These conditions allowed for a Moscato Giallo with precise aromatics, good natural acidity, and a fine, savory structure, typical of mountain wines.Winemaking and aging
After careful manual harvesting, the grapes are softly pressed, and the must ferments slowly in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. This is followed by an aging period of about six months on the fine lees, a practice that contributes to giving the wine greater body and complexity while maintaining its freshness and aromatic purity. There is no wood aging, to prioritize the fruit's fragrance and the varietal's typical vibrancy.Tasting notes
Color
In the glass, it presents a brilliant straw yellow with greenish reflections, an expression of youth and vitality.Nose
The aroma is intense and clean: notes of white flowers, sage, citrus, and tropical fruit emerge. The bouquet is elegant but not overpowering, with the typical aromaticity of Moscato Giallo well balanced by alpine freshness.Palate
On the palate, it is fresh, harmonious, and mineral, with a dry finish that enhances the varietal's natural aromaticity. The acidity is lively but never harsh, making the Vogelmaier 2024 a very drinkable wine, perfect for those who love fragrant but balanced whites. What dishes to pair with Alto Adige Moscato Giallo IGT 'Vogelmaier' 2024 - Alois Lageder
