What kind of wine is Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG 2024 - Col Vetoraz
The Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG 2024 - Col Vetoraz is an exceptional sparkling wine from the Venetian tradition, a symbol of the art of Prosecco in its most refined form. It originates in the heart of the hilly area of Cartizze Alto, the most prized and suitable production area of Valdobbiadene, which offers superior quality grapes thanks to an ideal microclimate and mineral-rich soils. The sparkling process takes place with the Charmat Method (or Martinotti), which involves re-fermentation in an autoclave: a process that enhances fresh and fruity aromas while preserving the fineness of the bubbles. The result is an elegant wine, with a velvety and pleasantly aromatic character, perfect for toasting on the most special occasions.Vintage Details
The 2024 vintage is characterized by a balanced climate: mild springs and a summer without excessive heat favored a homogeneous ripening of the Glera grapes. The harvest, which took place between late September and early October, ensured fruits rich in aromas and an excellent balance between sweetness and acidity, fundamental elements for obtaining a fine and persistent sparkling wine.Vinification and aging
After a gentle pressing of the grapes, the must is fermented at a controlled temperature to preserve the natural fragrance of the grape. The secondary fermentation, according to the Charmat Method, takes place in an autoclave for several weeks. This process, faster than the traditional method, is ideal for enhancing the floral and fruity notes typical of Prosecco. After re-fermentation, the wine rests briefly on its lees to acquire greater complexity and harmony, before being bottled.Tasting Notes
