What kind of wine is Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze DOCG Dry - Ruggeri

In the heart of the Cartizze hills, in the hamlet of San Pietro di Barbozza, east of Valdobbiadene, the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze DOCG Dry - Ruggeri is born, one of the most refined and representative expressions of the territory. This sparkling wine is produced with selected Glera grapes harvested in one of the most renowned crus of the appellation. The production method used is the Charmat (or Martinotti) method, a process that involves a second fermentation in an autoclave, ideal for enhancing the freshness, fragrance, and aromatic finesse typical of Prosecco. The Dry style indicates a slightly higher sugar content compared to a Brut, giving the wine a pleasant softness on the palate.

Vintage Details

The Glera grapes destined for Ruggeri Cartizze Dry come from vineyards perfectly exposed to the sun and well-ventilated, conditions that favor balanced ripening and excellent aromatic concentration. The recent vintage was distinguished by stable weather, with warm days and cool nights that preserved the natural acidity of the fruit, giving the wine a brilliant gustatory tension.

Winemaking and Aging

After manual harvesting, the grapes are softly pressed to extract only the finest must. Primary fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature to preserve the floral and fruity aromas. This is followed by prise de mousse (secondary fermentation) in an autoclave, according to the Charmat method, for about 60 days. This aging period allows for the development of the fine and persistent bubbles that characterize the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore di Cartizze DOCG Dry - Ruggeri.

Tasting Notes

A Prosecco Superiore of rare elegance, captivating with its balance and harmony between sweetness and freshness.

Nose

The aroma is intense and refined, with notes of white peach, ripe pear, golden apple, and acacia flowers, accompanied by hints of citrus and light mineral sensations that broaden its complexity.

Taste

The sip is soft, fresh, and harmonious. The residual sugar (around 30 g/l) blends perfectly with a lively acidity, creating an agile and never cloying balance. The finish is long and fruity, with a pleasant return of floral notes.
