What kind of wine is Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut DOCG 'Saltèr' - Ruggeri?
The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut DOCG 'Saltèr' - Ruggeri is an elegant Venetian sparkling wine, a symbol of the winemaking tradition of Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the Treviso hills. Produced with selected Glera grapes and vinified according to the Charmat method (or Martinotti method), this Prosecco stands out for its freshness and the balance between sweetness and acidity. The name "Saltèr" is inspired by an ancient peasant figure, the guardian of the vineyards, who watched over the rows, protecting them, also thanks to his characteristic attire rich in feathers, leather, and chains with animal teeth.Vintage Details
The vintage of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut DOCG 'Saltèr' - Ruggeri is the result of a hand harvest, at perfect ripeness, in the most suitable areas of Valdobbiadene. Favorable climatic conditions, with sunny days and cool nights, favored grapes with an intense aromatic profile and marked natural acidity, perfect for creating fine and persistent bubbles.Vinification and aging
The Glera grapes undergo a soft pressing to extract only the free-run juice, the purest and most aromatic part of the juice. The first fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for about 8 days. This is followed by natural refermentation in autoclaves, according to the Charmat method, at a constant temperature of 12-14°C. This phase lasts several weeks and allows for a fine, creamy, and persistent foam. After a short aging period, the wine is bottled to preserve its freshness intact.Tasting Notes
