What kind of wine is Sebino Rosso IGT 'Pinéro' 2018 Magnum - Ca’ del Bosco (wooden box)?

The Sebino Rosso IGT 'Pinéro' 2018 Magnum - Ca’ del Bosco is an elegant and refined red wine, made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, one of the most complex and fascinating grape varieties to cultivate. Produced in the heart of Lombardy, within the IGT Sebino appellation, this wine embodies the essence of the qualitative research and oenological precision that distinguishes the Ca’ del Bosco winery. The body of the wine is silky yet structured, capable of expressing the characteristics of the grape variety to its fullest, with a perfect balance between freshness, fruity aromas, and evolved spicy notes. The Magnum edition, housed in an elegant wooden box, represents not only a collector's item but also a way to ensure a slower and more harmonious evolution over time.

Vintage Details

The 2018 vintage is considered one of the most balanced for Pinot Noir grown in the Sebino area. Favorable climatic conditions – mild winters and a regular summer with good temperature variations – allowed for optimal grape ripening. The harvest, carried out manually, guaranteed a rigorous selection of the bunches, ensuring the perfect health and aromatic concentration of the fruit.

Winemaking and Aging

The winemaking of Pinéro 2018 follows an artisanal approach with absolute respect for the grape variety. After destemming and crushing, the must remains in contact with the skins for about 15 days, during which pump-overs (the movement of the must to allow for uniform extraction of color and aromas) are regularly performed. Once separated from the skins, the wine is transferred to French oak barriques – half new and half second-passage – where it ages for about 11 months. Bottling is done by gravity, without aggressive filtration or clarification, to preserve the purity and complexity of the wine.

Tasting Notes

Color

Visually, it presents an intense and luminous ruby red, with garnet reflections that anticipate its evolution and depth.

Nose

The aroma is fine and rich, with hints of ripe cherry, raspberry, and a pleasant undergrowth note. Delicate spicy nuances of vanilla, cinnamon, and blond tobacco emerge, typical of wood aging and perfectly integrated with the fruit.

Palate

On the palate, it is harmonious and velvety, with soft and well-polished tannins. The structure is balanced and the finish is long and persistent, with returns of red fruit and sweet spices. A wine that shows all the complexity and elegance of Pinot Noir, making it irresistible today but also promising over time.
