What kind of wine is Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC “Ca Veja” 2021 - Paitin
The Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC “Ca Veja” 2021 - Paitin originates from the hills of Alba, in Piedmont, from one of Italy's iconic grape varieties: Nebbiolo. The name “Ca Veja,” meaning “old house,” refers to the historical vineyard from which the grapes are sourced, a terroir that combines tradition and character. The vines are rooted in soil composed of Diano Sandstone and Sant'Agata Marls, a geological combination capable of imparting elegance, freshness, and depth to the wine. The result is a well-balanced Piedmontese red, combining strength and finesse, structure and harmony.Vintage Details
The 2021 vintage stands out for its balanced and favorable climate: cold winters, dry springs, and warm but ventilated summers allowed the grapes to ripen uniformly. This contributed to obtaining a Nebbiolo d’Alba with clear aromas, silky tannins, and a natural freshness that ensures excellent drinkability from the start, as well as interesting aging potential.Winemaking and Aging
Winemaking takes place in stainless steel using the traditional submerged cap technique, a method that allows the skins to remain in contact with the must to gently extract color, aromas, and structure. This is followed by 18 months of aging in Slavonian oak barrels, which rounds out the tannins and enriches the bouquet with elegant spicy and balsamic notes, without distorting the fruit's original freshness.Tasting Notes
