What wine is Dolcetto d'Alba DOC “Mosesco” 2023 - Prunotto
Dolcetto d'Alba DOC “Mosesco” 2023 - Prunotto is a Piedmontese red wine born in the heart of the Langhe, from one of the most beloved and authentic indigenous grape varieties of the region: Dolcetto. The Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) guarantees the origin and superior quality of a wine distinguished by its fresh, fruity, and pleasantly balanced profile. This Dolcetto is one of the most genuine expressions of the Prunotto style: a medium-bodied, soft, and harmonious red, designed for those seeking an approachable yet characterful wine.Vintage Details
The 2023 vintage in the Langhe was characterized by a balanced climate, with a mild spring and a regular summer that favored a slow and constant maturation of the grapes. The Dolcetto grapes from the “Mosesco” vineyard in Rodello thus achieved perfect aromatic concentration and an excellent balance between sugars and acidity. The result is a particularly expressive wine, with notes of red fruit and a pleasant freshness that authentically reflects its territory of origin.Winemaking and Aging
After harvesting, the grapes are gently destemmed and crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature to preserve the purity of the fruit. Maceration, the contact of the must with the skins to extract color and aromas, lasts for several days, ensuring an intense yet balanced aromatic profile. Aging continues for approximately 6 months in large 75-hectoliter oak barrels, where the wine acquires softness and structure, and then concludes with a further rest in the bottle for about 4 months before commercial release.Tasting Notes
