What kind of wine is Champagne Brut AOC 'Collection 245' - Louis Roederer
Champagne Brut AOC "Collection 245" - Louis Roederer is the latest chapter in the journey undertaken by the historic Reims-based house, a benchmark in the world of Champagne. This wine marks a natural evolution of the philosophy that has made Roederer famous: to offer an authentic, elegant Champagne true to its terroir. Produced according to the Champenoise method – the secondary fermentation in the bottle that creates natural bubbles – it combines artisanal tradition and innovation. The AOC Champagne Brut designation guarantees the controlled origin and quality of every bottle, a symbol of French excellence.Vintage Details
The Collection 245 is named after the 245th harvest in the house's history, corresponding to the 2020 vintage. It was a complex but characterful year: the warm spring and summer yielded mature, concentrated grapes with great aromatic purity. Louis Roederer expertly selected the best Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier crus to create a harmonious and profound blend, enriched by a significant portion of reserve wines carefully aged in wood.Winemaking and Aging
The winemaking follows the traditional method, the same used for all Champagnes: after fermentation in steel and wood, the base wine is bottled with selected yeasts for the second fermentation. The prise de mousse – the phase in which the bubbles form – takes place in the bottle, where the wine rests on its lees for at least 4 years. This long aging imparts complexity, creaminess, and toasted notes. The final dosage is "Brut," with a restrained sugar content to maintain the freshness and balance that distinguish the Roederer signature.Tasting Notes
