What kind of wine is Barolo Lazzarito 2021 - Vietti?
The Barolo Lazzarito 2021 - Vietti is born in the heart of the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba, one of the most iconic areas of the Langhe. It is produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, an indigenous Piedmontese grape variety that gives rise to the longest-lived and most complex Barolos. The vineyards are located in the famous Lazzarito cru, an area historically renowned for its ability to offer wines of great structure and aromatic depth. This is a traditional yet elegant Barolo, with a full body, dense tannins, and a balance that will further improve with bottle aging.Vintage Details
The 2021 vintage was characterized by balanced weather conditions, with a warm but not excessive summer and significant diurnal temperature variations. These conditions allowed the grapes to ripen uniformly, preserving the aromatic and tannic components typical of Nebbiolo. The result is a wine of great harmony, where power and finesse coexist in perfect balance.Winemaking and Aging
The grapes are harvested manually, selecting only the best bunches. This is followed by fermentation with maceration on the skins for about four weeks in steel tanks, a process that allows for the extraction of color, aromas, and structure, giving the wine its typical personality. After fermentation, the Barolo Lazzarito 2021 - Vietti ages for about 30 months in wood, partly in large oak barrels and partly in barriques, before continuing its evolution in the bottle. This double wood aging contributes to the definition of the aromatic profile and the softness of the tannins.Tasting Notes
