What kind of wine is Barbaresco DOCG “Sorì Paitin” 2021 - Paitin
The Barbaresco DOCG “Sorì Paitin” 2021 - Paitin is one of the iconic wines of the Langhe region, a Piedmontese red of great finesse and personality. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, it comes from a single vineyard located south of the village of Neive, one of the most renowned areas of the Barbaresco appellation. The clayey and calcareous soil, combined with ideal sun exposure, yields a wine with an elegant and complex structure, capable of evolving for many years. Full-bodied yet harmonious, this Barbaresco represents a perfect synthesis of tradition and modern precision: a wine with a decisive yet refined character, telling the story of the Paitin family and the Langhe hills.Vintage Details
The 2021 vintage is considered very balanced for Nebbiolo: a cool climate in the initial phase and a dry but not excessively hot summer favored a homogeneous ripening of the grapes. Yields were contained, concentrating aromas and color in the fruit. The Barbaresco DOCG “Sorì Paitin” 2021 - Paitin in this vintage expresses a perfect balance between aromatic intensity, freshness, and gustatory depth, with dense but well-integrated tannins.Winemaking and Aging
Winemaking strictly follows the tradition of the Paitin winery. The grapes are vinified in steel tanks with a fermentation of approximately 40 days and using the submerged cap technique, which involves keeping the skins in contact with the must to achieve greater extraction of color and tannin. This is followed by an aging period of 24 months in large Slavonian oak barrels, neutral wood that does not overpower the character of the Nebbiolo but accompanies its evolution. The wine then completes its refinement in bottle before commercialization, to achieve a perfect balance between power and finesse.Tasting Notes
