What kind of wine is Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut DOCG 'Nodi' 2022 - Nino Franco

The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut DOCG 'Nodi' 2022 - Nino Franco is a sparkling wine of great elegance and character, the result of the extensive experience of the historic Nino Franco winery, one of the most renowned in the Valdobbiadene area, the beating heart of the DOCG appellation. It is made from 100% Glera grapes from the prized Col de Vent vineyard, in one of the most suitable areas for the production of Prosecco Superiore. Its fine and persistent effervescence comes from the Charmat method (or Martinotti method), a sparkling wine production system that involves a second fermentation in autoclaves, ideal for enhancing the freshness and floral aromas typical of the grape variety.

Vintage details

The 2022 vintage was characterized by balanced weather, with a warm summer but marked by good temperature fluctuations that favored the correct aromatic development of the grapes. The harvest, which took place between the end of August and the beginning of September, guaranteed healthy and aromatic fruits, perfect for obtaining a Prosecco with a lively and harmonious style.

Winemaking and aging

After a first fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, the base wine rests for a few weeks before undergoing secondary fermentation in an autoclave according to the Charmat method. This process, which lasts approximately 30-40 days, allows the fragrance and freshness of the fruit to remain intact. The wine is then aged for a short period on its lees, giving greater roundness and complexity to the palate.
