What kind of wine is Spumante Metodo Classico Brut Rosé 'Grande Annata' 2018 - Costaripa
The Spumante Metodo Classico Brut Rosé 'Grande Annata' 2018 - Costaripa is an elegant expression of the morainic hills of Garda, where climate and soil combine to create wines of refined personality. Produced with the ancient and prized Metodo Classico – the same method used for Champagnes – this rosé is born from a skilful balance between Chardonnay (80%) and Pinot Noir (20%). It is a sparkling wine with a modern character, yet linked to Lombard tradition: a fresh, fine and highly versatile wine, ideal for celebrating special moments or accompanying an elegant meal.Vintage details
The 2018 vintage, characterized by a balanced climate and mild temperatures, allowed for optimal grape ripening. The temperature excursions between day and night favored the preservation of aromas and the accumulation of natural acidity, fundamental elements for obtaining a sparkling wine of great freshness and harmony.Winemaking and aging
Harvesting is done by hand, in the early hours of the day, to best preserve the quality of the bunches. After a first fermentation in steel, the base wine is bottled for the second fermentation according to the Metodo Classico, i.e., in the bottle, where it slowly evolves in contact with the yeasts for about 54-60 months. This long period of aging on the lees gives the wine a fine and persistent perlage, as well as delicate notes of bread crust and ripe fruit that enrich the bouquet.Tasting Notes
Color
To the eye, it presents a delicate powder pink hue, with very fine and continuous bubbles, indicating the long aging on the lees and the high quality of the production method.Nose
The aroma is broad and refined: notes of fresh red fruits, such as wild strawberry and raspberry, emerge, followed by floral hints and nuances of yeast and pastry. The ensemble is elegant and complex, yet always balanced.Palate
On the palate, it is fresh and vibrant, supported by a beautiful acidity that enhances its drinkability. The structure of Chardonnay provides creaminess, while Pinot Noir gives body and persistence. The finish is long, mineral, and pleasantly dry, as befits a high-class Brut Rosé.Pairing suggestions for Spumante Metodo Classico Brut Rosé 'Grande Annata' 2018 - Costaripa
