What kind of wine is Pantelleria Zibibbo Secco DOC 'Isesi' 2022 - Cantine Pellegrino 1880
The Pantelleria Zibibbo Secco DOC 'Isesi' 2022 - Cantine Pellegrino 1880 is a dry white wine with a sunny and Mediterranean character, an authentic expression of the island of Pantelleria. It is made from Zibibbo grapes (or Muscat of Alexandria) cultivated using the "alberello pantesco" method, a traditional agricultural practice recognized as an intangible UNESCO heritage. The vines grow on volcanic soils, at about 300 meters above sea level, where the wind and sun shape intense and fragrant bunches. The result is a fresh, aromatic, and mineral wine, capable of conveying the extraordinary synthesis between sea and land that characterizes this small Sicilian island.Vintage Details
2022 was a balanced vintage for Pantelleria, characterized by a dry spring and a warm but breezy summer, ideal for the ripening of Zibibbo. The temperature variations between day and night favored aromatic concentration while maintaining a lively acidity that gives the wine tension and freshness.Winemaking and Aging
The harvest is done manually, selecting the best bunches. After a gentle pressing – a technique that extracts only the finest must – the wine ferments in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, preserving the varietal aromas. This is followed by 12 months of aging, also in stainless steel sur lies (i.e., in contact with the fine lees, the exhausted yeasts), which enriches the structure and enhances the sensation of softness and aromatic complexity.Tasting Notes
Color
In the glass, it presents a brilliant straw yellow with golden reflections, clear and luminous, promising a drink full of energy.Nose
