What kind of wine is Greco di Tufo DOCG “Giallo d’Arles” 2024 - Quintodecimo?
Greco di Tufo DOCG “Giallo d’Arles” 2024 - Quintodecimo is an elegant white wine from Campania, the result of the oenological vision of Luigi Moio, founder of Quintodecimo. It is made from fine Greco grapes grown in a single vineyard (cru) located in Tufo, in the heart of Irpinia, a hilly area characterized by clay-limestone soils rich in sulfur that give the wine its typical minerality. It is a white wine with a fresh, mineral, and structured profile, with a decisive personality and a marked ability to evolve over time, always maintaining balance and finesse.Vintage Details
The 2024 vintage was characterized by a regular winter and a rather mild spring, with a balanced summer without excessive heat. The temperature variations between day and night, typical of the Tufo area, favored a slow ripening of the grapes, preserving their acidity and aromas. The result is a harmonious and vibrant Greco di Tufo 2024, which precisely expresses the territory and the purity of the grape variety.Winemaking and aging
Fermentation takes place in small oak barrels, where the wine remains for a short period in contact with its fine lees (the yeasts deposited after fermentation), a practice that helps give the wine greater body and complexity. No aggressive fining or filtration is carried out to preserve its natural structure. After aging, the Greco di Tufo DOCG “Giallo d’Arles” 2024 - Quintodecimo is bottled and left to rest in the cellar before being released for sale, so that it can reach full gustatory harmony.Tasting Notes
Color
Visually, it presents an intense golden yellow, bright and deep, a distinctive sign of the grape variety and the slight oak aging.Nose
The aromatic profile is elegant and complex: aromas of ripe citrus, yellow fruit, and delicate floral notes emerge, accompanied by a subtle mineral nuance that recalls the tufa rocks of its origin. Over time, hints of honey and sweet almond develop, enriching the bouquet.Palate
On the palate, the wine is full and harmonious, supported by a lively freshness and a marked mineral savoriness. The well-balanced acidity gives it vibrancy, while the finish is long and persistent, with elegant citrus and mineral returns. What dishes to pair with Greco di Tufo DOCG “Giallo d’Arles” 2024 - Quintodecimo
