What kind of wine is Franciacorta DOCG 'Alma Assemblage' - Bellavista?
Franciacorta DOCG 'Alma Assemblage' - Bellavista is a classic method sparkling wine, meaning it is produced through secondary fermentation in the bottle, the same process used for Champagne. It originates in the heart of Franciacorta, Lombardy, a hilly area between Brescia and Lake Iseo famous for the quality of its morainic soils and an ideal microclimate for producing elegant and complex sparkling wines. It is a Brut profile wine, designed to express a balance of freshness, structure, and aromatic finesse: an authentic expression of the Bellavista style.Vintage Details
The grapes come from various selected parcels, with an average vine age of 27 years. The climatic conditions of the vintage are fundamental to the final quality: mild summers and manual harvesting ensure healthy and perfectly ripe fruits, while maintaining excellent natural acidity, a key element for creating long-lived and vibrant sparkling wines.Winemaking and Aging
The production of Franciacorta DOCG 'Alma Assemblage' - Bellavista follows the Classic Method (or traditional method), which involves:- A first fermentation in steel tanks and partly in small oak barrels, to enrich the wine with complex and nuanced notes;
- A second fermentation in the bottle, where the wine rests on its lees for a minimum period of 30 months;
- The subsequent disgorgement, which is the removal of yeast residues, and the final dosage that defines its Brut style.
