What kind of wine is Franciacorta Brut Satèn DOCG Magnum - Girolamo Conforti?
Franciacorta Brut Satèn DOCG Magnum - Girolamo Conforti is an elegant expression of the traditional method, the same used for Champagne, in which the second fermentation takes place in the bottle. It originates in the heart of Franciacorta, Lombardy, an area renowned for the production of high-quality sparkling wines. The "Satèn" style is a peculiarity typical of this appellation: it is a Franciacorta made exclusively from white grapes, with a lower pressure compared to traditional Brut, which results in a softer foam and a silky mouthfeel.Vintage details
The harvest is carried out by hand, selecting only the healthiest and ripest bunches, picked at the ideal moment of balance between sugars and acidity. The typical climatic conditions of the area – with hot but ventilated summers and significant temperature swings – allow the grapes to retain all the freshness and aromatic fragrance necessary to create a balanced and harmonious Satèn.Winemaking and aging
The sparkling wine base is vinified according to the Traditional Method, with a first fermentation in steel tanks and a second fermentation in the bottle. The wine rests for at least 24 months on its lees, during which time it develops complexity, finesse, and creaminess. After disgorgement, a brief period of bottle aging follows before sale, to allow it to fully express its broad and persuasive personality.Tasting notes
Color
In the glass, it presents a delicate straw yellow, with golden reflections and a very fine and persistent perlage, a distinctive sign of a long stay on the lees and a prestigious effervescence.Nose
On the nose, it captivates with fragrant aromas of white flowers and yellow-fleshed fruit, followed by notes of bread crust, citrus, and sweet almond. The olfactory impact is refined and harmonious, well-balanced between freshness and aromatic sweetness.Palate
On the palate, it is soft, velvety, and creamy, qualities typical of the Satèn style. The freshness and a fine acidity make it easy to drink, while the subtle perlage elegantly caresses the palate. The finish is long, clean, with fruity returns and sensations of butter and light vanilla. What dishes to pair with Franciacorta Brut Satèn DOCG Magnum - Girolamo Conforti
