What kind of wine is Etna Bianco Superiore DOC 2022 - Tenuta delle Terre Nere
The Etna Bianco Superiore DOC 2022 - Tenuta delle Terre Nere is a Sicilian white wine of great personality, produced exclusively from Carricante grapes grown on the eastern slopes of Etna, in the excellent area of Milo. Here, the volcanic soils, rich in mineral sands and trace elements, give the wine its typical freshness, tension, and minerality. It is an elegant and refined white wine, combining structure and pleasantness thanks to the altitude of the vineyards (between 650 and 800 meters above sea level) and the unique climate of the volcano.Vintage Details
The 2022 vintage on Etna was characterized by a warm but balanced season, with good temperature fluctuations between day and night that favored a slow and optimal ripening of the grapes. The result is a harmonious wine, with a broad aromatic profile and a particularly vibrant freshness, a distinctive sign of the territory.Vinification and aging
After a careful and selective manual harvest, the Carricante grapes are vinified in a way that preserves the aromas and the typical mineral imprint of the grape variety. Fermentation mainly takes place in 10-hectoliter French oak tonneaux, where the wine ages for about 10 months, gaining structure and complexity without losing its natural freshness. This is followed by a further 8 months of aging in the bottle, which allows the aromas and flavors to integrate perfectly, making it ready to be appreciated in its full expression.Tasting Notes
Color
In the glass, it presents a brilliant straw yellow, with golden reflections that testify to its maturity and its origin from high-altitude grapes.Nose
The bouquet is fine and elegant, with aromas of ripe citrus, green apple, white flowers, and light notes of almond and flint. The mineral component, typical of Etna wines, emerges delicately and blends with fruity and aromatic sensations.Taste
On the palate, it is a harmonious and vibrant wine, where freshness and sapidity chase each other in perfect balance. The natural acidity of Carricante gives impetus to the sip, while the finish is long, mineral, and slightly saline, with a pleasant citrusy hint that invites a second glass. What dishes to pair with Etna Bianco Superiore DOC 2022 - Tenuta delle Terre Nere
