What kind of wine is Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Nature DOCG 'Doro' 2024 - Le Vigne di Alice
The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Nature DOCG 'Doro' 2024 - Le Vigne di Alice represents one of the most authentic expressions of the hilly territory between Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, the beating heart of the most prestigious Prosecco appellation. Produced with the long Charmat method – which involves secondary fermentation in an autoclave with extended aging periods – this Nature stands out for its purity and freshness, enhanced by the absence of added sugars (Nature means "zero dosage"). Its style is elegant, mineral, and vibrant, capable of summarizing the unique finesse of the UNESCO World Heritage hills.Vintage Details
The 2024 harvest was characterized by balanced climatic conditions: mild springs, warm but ventilated summers, and cool nights that allowed for optimal ripening of the Glera grapes. This climatic balance favored the full aromatic expression and excellent natural acidity, essential elements for a Prosecco Nature of great clarity.Vinification and aging
The Glera grapes come from vineyards located on clay-limestone soils with morainic residues, derived from the ancient Piave glacier, which give the wine its characteristic mineral note. The must ferments in steel at a controlled temperature and then undergoes secondary fermentation with the long Charmat method, which lasts between 60 and 90 days. This period on the lees (i.e., on the yeasts, which give complexity and body) gives the wine a fine and persistent perlage, with richer aromatic nuances compared to traditional short Charmat.Tasting Notes
Color It presents a bright straw yellow with greenish reflections, a sign of freshness and youth. The perlage is fine and continuous, testament to careful and slow re-fermentation. Nose The nose is elegant and immediate, with aromas of green apple, pear, white flowers, and light citrus notes. Mineral nuances and a hint of bread crust are also perceived, resulting from prolonged contact with the yeasts. Taste On the palate, it is taut, dry, and lively. The absence of residual sugars highlights the freshness and crisp acidity, balanced by a delicate softness and a clean, savory finish. A Prosecco Superiore that captivates with its balance and precision.Food pairings with Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Nature DOCG 'Doro' 2024 - Le Vigne di Alice
