What kind of wine is Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 'Il Grigio' 2020 Magnum - San Felice (boxed)
The Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 'Il Grigio' 2020 Magnum - San Felice (boxed) is an authentic expression of the Tuscan territory and the elegance of Sangiovese, the main grape variety of Chianti. Produced by the historic San Felice winery, this red wine embodies the deepest soul of Chianti Classico, combining tradition and modern techniques to achieve balance, structure, and impeccable drinkability. The large Magnum bottle, presented in a refined box, amplifies its aging potential and also makes it an excellent gift idea.Vintage details
The 2020 vintage was characterized by a balanced climate, with a mild spring and a warm but ventilated summer. The temperature excursions between day and night favored optimal ripening of the Sangiovese grapes, allowing them to best express intense aromas and soft tannins. The harvest, carried out by hand between late September and early October, ensured a careful selection of the healthiest and ripest bunches.Vinification and aging
The grapes of Chianti Classico Riserva “Il Grigio” are carefully vinified in steel tanks at a controlled temperature, where fermentation lasts approximately 18-20 days at 28-30°C. During this period, malolactic fermentation also occurs, a natural process that softens the wine's acidity, making it rounder and more harmonious. Aging continues for about two years: 80% of the mass matures in large Slavonian oak barrels, while the remaining 20% rests in French oak barriques. This choice allows for a perfect balance between freshness, aromatic complexity, and softness.Tasting notes

To the eye, it shows a deep ruby red color with garnet hues, indicating a significant structure and ongoing evolution.Nose
On the nose, it expresses typical Sangiovese aromas: notes of violet, small wild berries, and spicy hints of vanilla and tobacco, given by the long aging in wood. With oxygenation, delicate balsamic nuances and hints of leather emerge.Taste

The persistence is long and pleasant, with a savory and fruity finish that invites a second sip. What dishes to pair with Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 'Il Grigio' 2020 Magnum - San Felice (boxed)

Storage and aging: how to store Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 'Il Grigio' 2020 Magnum - San Felice (boxed)
To preserve all the qualities of this wine, it is recommended to store it in a cool place, with a constant temperature between 12 and 16°C, away from direct light and heat sources. The bottle should be kept lying down, so that the cork remains moist and ensures a perfect seal over time. Thanks to its structure and the quality of its aging, “Il Grigio” can evolve positively in the bottle for over 10 years, developing more complex and fascinating tertiary notes over time. The Magnum format, moreover, guarantees an even slower and more harmonious evolution, ideal for those who love collecting great wines or wish to offer them on special occasions.Saint Felix
