What kind of wine is Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG “Mocenni 89” 2018 - Tenuta Mocenni, Bindi Sergardi
Located in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the heart of the southernmost part of the Chianti Classico area, Tenuta Mocenni represents one of the most authentic expressions of Tuscan wine. Bindi Sergardi's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG “Mocenni 89” 2018 is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes, from the vineyard identified by cadastral number 89, a symbol of the deep connection between the wine and its territory of origin. This red wine of great personality stands out for its structure, elegance, and longevity, combining aromatic intensity and refined complexity, typical of the best Chianti Classico Gran Selezione.Vintage Details
The 2018 vintage was characterized by balanced climatic conditions, with a regular spring and a warm but not excessive summer. The grapes reached phenolic ripeness (i.e., full maturity of coloring and tannic substances) uniformly, giving the wine a balance between freshness and concentration. The harvest, carried out manually towards the end of September, selected only the best bunches to guarantee the purity and authenticity of the Sangiovese.Winemaking and Aging
After alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, the must remains in contact with the skins for about 20 days, in order to best extract color and structure. Aging takes place for 24 months in large oak barrels, where the wine slowly matures, softening the tannins and enriching its aromatic complexity. This is followed by a further period in the bottle, which allows the style of Mocenni 89 to express itself with elegance and harmony.Tasting Notes
