What kind of wine is Chianti Classico DOCG 2022 - Buondonno
Chianti Classico DOCG 2022 - Buondonno is a Tuscan red wine that reflects the authenticity and character of the Chianti territory. Coming from vineyards of about eight hectares in the heart of the denomination, it is made in full respect of organic farming principles. The vines, with an average age of twelve years, rest on clay-limestone soils that give the wine structure and elegance. The result is a Chianti Classico with a balanced, lively, and pleasantly harmonious body, capable of combining tradition with a modern and sustainable production vision.Vintage details
The 2022 vintage was marked by a warm but balanced climate, with well-distributed rainfall that favored perfect grape ripening. Sunny days and cool nights allowed Sangiovese – the main grape of this wine – to express its typical aromatic profile, combining structure, freshness, and excellent fruity intensity. A hand-harvest ensured the selection of the best bunches, maintaining full integrity and quality of the fruit.Vinification and aging
The Chianti Classico DOCG 2022 - Buondonno results from a spontaneous fermentation, meaning it is initiated solely by the yeasts naturally present on the grape skins. This process lasts about twenty days, with maceration in steel and concrete tanks, allowing a balanced extraction of color and tannins. This is followed by a 9-12 month aging period in small and medium-sized oak barrels and second-passage barriques, which gives the wine roundness and finesse without masking the fruity notes of Sangiovese. To this, a bottle rest of about three months is added before release. The sulfur dioxide content is low (55 mg/l), a sign of a minimalist approach that respects the raw material.Tasting notes
