What kind of wine is Champagne Brut Natures “Meslier & Pinot” - Laherte Frères
The Champagne Brut Natures “Meslier & Pinot” - Laherte Frères is an authentic expression of the most artisanal and contemporary Champagne. Produced by the historic Maison Laherte Frères, located in Chavot in the Côteaux Sud d’Épernay, it originates from an equal blend of Pinot Meunier and Petit Meslier, two grape varieties that tell the most vibrant and rural soul of the region. It is a Champagne Brut Nature, therefore without dosage: a wine that undergoes no additions after disgorgement, thus maintaining the purity of the fruit and its original freshness intact. Like all authentic champagnes, it is made using the méthode champenoise (or traditional method), which involves a second fermentation in the bottle capable of giving the wine its unmistakable fine and persistent bubbles.Vintage Details
The vintage of the Champagne Brut Natures “Meslier & Pinot” - Laherte Frères is characterized by an ideal climatic balance, with temperate summers and a good temperature range between day and night. These conditions favored homogeneous ripening of the grapes, ensuring lively acidity and an elegant structure. The harvest is carried out manually to select only perfectly healthy and ripe bunches.Winemaking and aging
Fermentation takes place in steel tanks and small oak barrels, preserving complexity and freshness. This is followed by a long prise de mousse in the bottle – the second fermentation typical of the traditional method – and aging on the lees for at least 30 months, during which time the wine develops refined aromas and a creamy structure. The complete absence of dosage (zero added sugar) enhances its purity and minerality, offering a straightforward and vibrant profile.Tasting Notes
