What kind of wine is Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 'Pomona' 2019 - Villa Poggio Salvi
The Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 'Pomona' 2019 - Villa Poggio Salvi is an elegant and deep red wine, produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, locally known as "Brunello". This label represents the most authentic expression of the Montalcino territory, the result of the best company vineyards from which the "Pomona" cuvée is born. The result is a full-bodied and harmonious wine, capable of combining power and finesse in perfect balance.Vintage details
The 2019 vintage was particularly generous for Montalcino: a balanced climate, with good temperature variations between day and night, favored a slow and regular ripening of the grapes. Spring rains ensured optimal water reserves, while the weeks leading up to the harvest – carried out manually between late September and early October – yielded healthy, concentrated grapes rich in complex aromas. This allowed for the production of an elegant Brunello, long-lived and already capable of expressing the typical characteristics of the Montalcino terroir.Winemaking and aging
The winemaking of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 'Pomona' 2019 - Villa Poggio Salvi follows traditional methods, with controlled temperature fermentation and a maceration on the skins of about 20 days, necessary to extract color, tannins and complex aromas. Aging takes place for about 30 months in Slavonian oak barrels, a wood that slowly releases its notes without overpowering the wine's personality. This is followed by a further period of rest in the bottle, during which the Brunello harmonizes, enriching itself with balance and depth.Tasting notes
