What wine is Bolgheri Vermentino DOC 'SoloSole' 2023 - Poggio al Tesoro, Marilisa Allegrini

The Bolgheri Vermentino DOC 'SoloSole' 2023 - Poggio al Tesoro, Marilisa Allegrini is a white wine with a Mediterranean character, an authentic expression of the Tuscan coast. It is born in the “Le Sondraie” vineyard, in the heart of Bolgheri, from Vermentino grapes of a clone originating from Corsica, a variety that loves light and warmth. The name “SoloSole” in fact tells its essence: the grapes ripen completely in the sun, developing intense aromas and a pleasant gustatory richness. This white wine stands out for its fresh, aromatic and mineral style, with a sunny personality and a perfect balance between fruity aromas and vibrant acidity.

Vintage Details

The 2023 vintage in Bolgheri was characterized by a balanced climate, with a regular spring and a warm but not excessive summer. Sea breezes played a key role in maintaining the freshness of the grapes and preserving their aromatic integrity. A gradual harvest allowed the Vermentino to be picked at the ideal moment, guaranteeing excellent concentration and balanced acidity.

Vinification and aging

The grapes for Bolgheri Vermentino DOC 'SoloSole' 2023 are harvested manually to preserve their quality. After a delicate pressing, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, thus enhancing the varietal aromas and the purity of the fruit. The wine then ages for a few months on its fine lees (solid part of the wine that enriches its structure and complexity) and subsequently rests in the bottle before commercialization. No wood aging, therefore, but only steel to keep the original fragrance of the Vermentino intact.

Tasting Notes

Bolgheri Vermentino SoloSole 2023 is an elegant and sunny white wine, to be enjoyed young to best appreciate its vivacity and aromatic component.

Color

Luminous straw yellow with greenish reflections, a clear sign of youth and freshness.

Nose

On the nose it offers intense and refined aromas: hints of ripe yellow fruit such as peach and apricot, followed by citrus notes and floral hints of broom. A subtle mineral vein typical of the sandy and calcareous soils of Bolgheri emerges on the finish.

Taste

On the palate it is balanced and juicy, with a full and dynamic sip. The lively acidity supports the drinkability and the minerality gives a persistent sensation of freshness. It closes with a savory and pleasantly fruity finish, which invites another taste.
