What kind of wine is Bolgheri Bianco DOC 'Borgeri' 2023 - Giorgio Meletti Cavallari?
The Bolgheri Bianco DOC 'Borgeri' 2023 - Giorgio Meletti Cavallari is the brightest and most maritime expression of the renowned Bolgheri area on the Tuscan coast. It is born from a skilful blend of Vermentino and Viognier, two grape varieties that perfectly complement each other: the first provides freshness and citrus notes, while the second offers intense aromas and roundness. It is a wine with a fresh, aromatic character and a beautiful mineral imprint, fully representing the lively style of Bolgheri white wines.Vintage details
The 2023 vintage in Bolgheri was balanced and regular. After a mild and not too rainy winter, spring offered ideal conditions for flowering, and a warm but ventilated summer favored optimal grape ripening. The temperature excursions between day and night intensified the aromas and preserved the natural acidity, resulting in a harmonious and vibrant wine.Vinification and aging
The grapes are hand-picked in the early morning hours to preserve their aromatic integrity. After a soft pressing, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures using selected yeasts, useful for enhancing the varietal characteristics. The wine remains for approximately 4 months in stainless steel in contact with the fine lees (the lighter solid parts of the wine, which add structure), before bottling. No wood aging, to preserve freshness and clean taste.Tasting notes
