What kind of wine is Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Blanc DOC 'Quarz' 2023 - Terlan
The Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Blanc DOC “Quarz” 2023 - Terlan is a high-altitude white wine that represents one of the highest Italian expressions of this international grape variety. It is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes, cultivated on the porphyry soils of the municipality of Terlano, in the heart of Alto Adige, where strong temperature variations between day and night favor intense aromas and a distinct freshness. It is a wine with a fresh, aromatic, and mineral profile, capable of combining elegance and complexity in a wonderfully balanced sip.Vintage details
The 2023 vintage in Alto Adige was characterized by a regular spring, followed by a summer with moderate temperatures and good diurnal temperature variation. Cool nights and slow ripening favored the development of intense aromas and vibrant acidity, essential for giving the wine energy and longevity. The result is a Sauvignon Blanc with clear aromatics, a refined and perfectly balanced structure.Winemaking and aging
Harvesting is done by hand to preserve the integrity of the bunches. After gentle pressing, the must ferments slowly in large oak barrels, a process that enhances its finesse and complexity. Aging continues for about 9 months on the lees, divided between stainless steel and wood, a technique that enriches the wine with creamy notes and structure without losing freshness and aromatic precision.Tasting notes
Color
In the glass, it presents a brilliant straw yellow with slight golden reflections, a sign of youth and vitality.Nose
On the nose, it reveals a broad and refined range of aromas: hints of exotic fruit such as mango and grapefruit, notes of aromatic herbs, and nuances of flint typical of Terlano's porphyry soils. The intensity is accompanied by surprising aromatic precision.Palate
On the palate, it explodes with all its freshness and minerality, supported by a lively acidity that gives rhythm and tension to the sip. The structure is elegant yet enveloping, with a long and clean finish where citrus and mineral sensations return. A white wine that tells the story of the perfect balance between mountain terroir and winemaking expertise. What dishes to pair with Alto Adige Terlano Sauvignon Blanc DOC 'Quarz' 2023 - Terlan
