The Alto Adige Pinot Noir Riserva DOC "Flora" 2022 - Girlan is an elegant and refined red wine, authentically representing the wine-growing vocation of South Tyrol. It comes from the union of three prestigious crus: Girlan, Mazon, and Pinzon, historically recognized areas for the quality of their Pinot Noir. The grape variety is Pinot Noir, known for its noble character and its ability to finely express its terroir. In this case, it produces a medium-bodied, balanced, and harmonious wine with a typical, fine aromatic profile rich in nuances.Vintage Details
The 2022 vintage was characterized by a balanced climate, with warm days and cool nights, ideal for the perfect ripening of the grapes. The harvest, carried out by hand, allowed only the best bunches to be selected, thus ensuring a high-quality must. This climatic balance gave the wine an elegant structure and silky tannins, maintaining the freshness that distinguishes the best South Tyrolean Pinot Noirs.Winemaking and Aging
After manual harvesting, the grapes for the Pinot Noir “Flora” are destemmed and sent for fermentation in stainless steel, where they remain for about three weeks in contact with the skins (a phase called maceration, which serves to extract color and aromas). The wine then continues its aging process: 12 months in wooden barrels, where it acquires complexity and roundness, followed by another 6 months of maturation in the bottle, to harmonize all the aromas and flavors.Tasting Notes
