What kind of wine is Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva 'Matan' 2022 - Pfitscher?
The Alto Adige Pinot Nero Riserva “Matan” 2022 - Pfitscher is an elegant and refined red wine, produced in the heart of Alto Adige, an area renowned for its fine mountain Pinot Noirs. It originates from the vineyards of Gleno and Langefeld, in Montagna, cultivated between 500 and 600 meters above sea level: an ideal environment for obtaining grapes with a complex aromatic profile and a perfect balance between freshness and structure. This is an authentic Pinot Nero Riserva DOC that represents the essence of the Pfitscher style: purity, precision, and respect for the territory.Vintage Details
The 2022 vintage in Alto Adige was characterized by balanced weather conditions, with warm days and cool nights that favored homogeneous grape ripening. The significant temperature fluctuations contributed to developing intense aromas and delicate tannins, giving the Pinot Nero “Matan” an extraordinary harmony between fruit component and structure.Vinification and Aging
The grapes are harvested manually and brought to the winery for temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks, which allows for the best preservation of varietal aromas. This is followed by a controlled duration of maceration on the skins to extract color and substance, without compromising the typical elegance of the grape variety. The wine then matures for about 15 months in oak barrels of various sizes, where it refines its aromatic complexity and the softness of its tannins. A further period in the bottle completes the process, lending balance and roundness.Tasting Notes
